About Mansar Lake
A calm lake about 60 km east of Jammu, ringed by forest hills and sacred to local people. A short walk goes round it, with boating on the water and a Sheshnag shrine and the Umapati Mahadev temple on the banks. It is a quiet day trip from Jammu or a stop on the way to Patnitop, and the neighbouring Surinsar lake is a small sibling worth adding.
