About Mahimangad
One of a chain of small forts strung across the dry Man country east of Satara, built to hold the road between the ghats and the plain. The climb is short. The interest is in seeing how different this dry, open landscape is from the Sahyadri forts a couple of hours west.
What to see and do
- Intact entrance gate
- Cisterns on the summit
- Long views across the Man desh plain
Part of Sahyadri (Western Ghats).
