About Longwa Village
A Konyak village in the far north of Nagaland where the chief's house, the Angh's house, stands across the India and Myanmar border, so that one part of the house is in each country. The elders still carry the facial tattoos of Konyak warriors, and the village keeps a tribal museum and skull relics. The Aoling festival in the first week of April is the best time. It is a long road from Dimapur or from Jorhat in Assam, so plan two days, and carry your permits and ID.
