About Koloriang and the Kurung River
The headquarters of Kurung Kumey on the Kurung river, a full day of driving from Ziro through Palin, and one of the most isolated district towns in India. The Nyishi villages here kept their old ways longest, and the country to the north is high, empty and close to the Tibet border. A couple of basic lodges. Come for the road, the river and the remoteness, and allow a spare day for landslides.
