About Kaza
The main town and sub division headquarters of Spiti, on the Spiti river, with a monastery, a market and a base for all the valley's attractions. The Sakya Tangyud monastery is in the new town, with a large number of monks. There are plenty of homestays, and ATMs may not work, so carry cash.
