About Garhmukteshwar
An old Shiva town on the Ganga bank, 100 km from Delhi on the Moradabad highway, with the Mukteshwar Mahadev temple and a cluster of shrines on the bluff above the river. The Kartik Purnima Ganga Mela here is one of the largest fairs in western UP, a week of tents and bathing on the sands. Brijghat, the bathing ghat, is 5 km east.
