About Dumboor Lake

A large reservoir on the Gumti river in Dhalai district, dotted with about forty eight small islands, around 110 km from Agartala. Boat rides go among the islands, and the lake is the winter home of migratory birds. The nearby Tirthamukh sees a large fair on Poush Sankranti in January. It is a long drive, so start early and plan a day with a boat ride, or stay overnight.
