About Deolo Hill, Kalimpong

The highest point of Kalimpong, at about 1,700 metres, with a view over the town, the Teesta river valley and, on clear days, Kanchenjunga. Pine woods, a small park and a few cafes make it a good place to sit. Kalimpong itself has several old monasteries, such as the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang, plant nurseries and a quiet old town. It is easy to combine with a drive to Darjeeling or Gangtok.
