About Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary

A sanctuary on the Dalma range north of Jamshedpur, known for its elephants, which move seasonally between here and the forests of Bengal and Odisha. The top of the hill has a rest house, a temple and a wide view, and treks and jeeps start at the foothills. Elephants can be dangerous, especially near the road, so follow guides and forest staff, avoid night travel and keep a safe distance. Take entry permits from the forest office.
