About Chail
A hill station set on three hills, built by the Maharaja of Patiala as his summer capital after a quarrel with the British, who had refused him Shimla. The Chail Palace is now a heritage hotel, and the town has the world's highest cricket ground, at 2,444 metres. Pine and deodar forests, and the Chail Wildlife Sanctuary, are good for walks.
